The "Songs you'll pass on to your kids" Edition

Happy Friday!

Growing up, i envied kids that had parents who allowed them to rummage through their record collections. My parents were never musically inclined. So i always thought that when the time came, my child will have her/his room walls covered with record sleeves.

And within that wallpaper, you may be able to find some of these songs:

Ella Fitzgerald "Give me the simple life"

anything ella really... i want kid to think she's grandma

David Bowie "Rebel, Rebel"(live)

The experiment with makeup stage (applies to both girls and boys)

Curtis Mayfield "Move on up" (live)

When they feel the blues

Nsync "I'll be good for you"

yes junior, pop was big growing up in the 90s and that was assisted by this unit called a boyband...

Of course there's also electronic, portishead/EBTG, the entire MJ discography...

What songs will you pass on to your kids?

[other songs you might like to check out]

etienne de crecy "when jack met jill"

Mumm-ra "She's got you high"

Ingrid michaelson "The way i am"

Stuck in my head this thursday morning.

Stand by Me -

A little song about friendship, loyalty and grace under fire.

One of the most classic pieces with thanks to the hippies. Really one for the kids. Before all the angst start to settle in.

New Seekers - I'd Like ToTeach The World To Sing

Song’s I’ll want my young ones to hear and remember:

Another Brick in the Wall – Pink Floyd (very crucial)

Sasha & John Digweed’s Renaissance Collection (must start young)

Beatles – Let it be (heck, in fact everything by the beatles)

Queen – Live Aid Concert (and everything by Queen)

Love – John Lennon

Joni Mitchell – Both Sides Now

Crosby Stills Nash and Young – Teach Your Children

REM- It's The End of The World As We Know It (And I Feel Fine)

I would be the proudest mother if I see RATM posters up on my kids' walls - something my own mother told me to take down years ago.
Wanna raise people who love life enough to wanna fight for the best kind, not pussy children. :)
