Aug 21 - The SYDNEY Edition

G'Day!
We continue our musical journey into Down Under.
Australia is a goldmine of audio delights and we can only do the volume of music justice by dedicating a week to each major state... starting with Sydney.

Katalyst - "Dedicated"

Pnau - "With you forever"

The Welcome Mat - "Play me"

(ahh... classic 90s hair)

Ratcat - "That Ain't bad"

You Am I - "Berlin chair" (live at Arias 94')

Severed Heads - "Big Car"

Electronic from 1989 (wow), somehow i feel this song can be played at a poptart sesh and still kinda works.

and of course the bands that have gained worldwide recognition and placed Aussie on the map as the country to watch:

AC/DC - "Walk all over you"

INXS - "What you need" (Live Aid 1985)

and i'll end off with everyone's favourite wolverine with his little Tony number

What are your favourite songs from these or other Sydney musicians?

NEXT WEEK:
Continuing our journey through aussieland.
It's a special next week as Friday Radio comes to you LIVE from our week's theme city MELBOURNE. So join us as we soak in as much Melbournian music as we can.

[HAMISH]

I can't think of a better song for this weeks theme.

The Whitlams - Love This City

enjoy.

[NICK C.]

The Moriarty brothers are from Canberra but they played some great Sunday evenings at the Sandringham Hotel in Newtown back in the day. Love the Gaddies.

Assuming you're not going to do a Brisbane week, Sunnyboys are one of the great pub bands with an awesomely consistent if short output.
